In my last hiring round, the cert that reliably moved the needle was CELTA — once I put ‘CELTA (6 hours observed teaching)’ at the top of my CV, interviews followed within a week. I’ve found the ‘short courses can enhance job prospects’ part holds true only after that main filter; a 20–30 hour Young Learners add-on helped me for K–12 posts as a tie-breaker.
